1st day (Saturday): As soon as you arrive at the airport of Athens, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day in Athens at leisure and overnight at the hotel in Athens.
2nd day (Sunday): Free day at leisure for enjoying the city of Athens. Optionally you can take the one-day cruise to 3 Greek islands (Hydra, Poros, Aegina). Alternatively, if your flight departs in the morning of Friday, then you can move the Athens Sightseeing Tour to this day. Overnight at the hotel in Athens.
3rd day (Monday): Classical Tour of Greece. In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel. Passing by OLYMPIC STADIUM to see the Athens 2004 Olympics main venue, we continue for the CORINTH CANAL (short stop). Drive to EPIDAURUS and visit the Ancient theatre, world famous for its outstanding acoustics. Proceed to NAUPLIA (Nafplion), a picturesque town which was the first capital of Greece (short stop). Through the plain of ARGOS arrive to MYCENAE. Visit the archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. In the afternoon (optional stop for souvenirs) depart for OLYMPIA, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, through the cites of Tripolis and MEGALOPOLIS (short stop). Pass by the city of NAFPAKTOS and from there on, along the coastal road to DELPHI, known in ancient times as the navel of the world. 5th day (Wednesday): Visit the archaeological site, and the MUSEUM of Delphi. Depart for KALAMBAKA via Central Greece (short stop by Lamia). Overnight stay in Kalambaka, a small town built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks and crowned by the METEORA Monasteries. Enjoy dinner and Overnight stay in Kalambaka.
6th day (Thursday): Leave in the morning to visit the breathtaking scenery of Meteora with the extraordinary BYZANTINE MONASTERIES. Return to Athens passing the heroic monument of Leonidas and his 300 warriors at THERMOPYLAE. In the evening you will be dropped-off at your hotel in Athens and overnight.
7th day (Friday): In the morning enjoy the Athens Sightseeing Tour. You will be picked up from your hotel, and depart for PANATHINAIKO STADIUM, the cradle of the first Olympic Games of the modern era, which took place in 1896 (short stop). Pass by the Prime Minister's residence, the ex Royal Palace, Zappion (Conference and Exhibition Hall), National Garden, Hadrian's Arc, St. Paul's Church, the House of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier (where you will see the Evzones in their picturesque uniform), Schlieman's House (Nomismatic Museum), the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy of Fine Arts, the University, the National Library, the Old Parliament, the Constitution Square (Syntagma), the Russian Orthodox Church, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, and finally the ACROPOLIS. On the Acropolis, the tour will visit the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion, and the PARTHENON (the monument that has been described as "harmony between material & spirit").
